This is an original 1880 black and white wood engraving of a group of intrepid hikers gathered around their humble campfire with the vastness of Germany's Black Forest stretched before them. With the dense Conifer trees growing on every side, its no wonder Hansel and Gretel lost their way. Wood carving is also a traditional cottage industry of the region, and cuckoo clocks are produced as souvenirs for tourists.
